Aydan Bowers has signed with Chattanooga Football Club for the 2023 season.
Bowers comes to Chattanooga from Cal United in the same league. He grew up in Murrieta, California and played for Arsenal Academy out of Ontario. Bowers played two years in the USSDA for Arsenal in high school and then signed with San Francisco State University for 4 years.
In college, Bowers was 2018 CCAA defender of the year, 2017 and 2018 All-Conference and was named 3rd Team All-American. Bowers then signed his first professional contract in Denmark playing for FC Helsinger for the 2019-2020 season.
He joined Cal United in 2020 where he started and played in 5 out of 5 games in an abbreviated season during the pandemic. In 2021 he started 19 of 20 games and played 1,710 minutes. In 2022, Bowers was in the starting lineup for each of the team's 17 games, adding another 1,530 minutes.
He has played in Chattanooga with his previous club and said he looks forward to being on the "friendly" side of the crowd's chants.
"It means a lot to me to be apart of Chattanooga Football Club," said Bowers. "I can’t wait to be in front of the community and give back to the people that deserve so much."
"Being apart of the community is such an important aspect being a professional soccer player. I can’t wait to get into the community and help others!"
Aydan’s father is Sean Bowers, the former captain of the US Men’s Futsal Team and was drafted to play for the MLS Kansas City Wizards.
