Chattanooga Football Club today announced the signing of talented attacking player Jesus Ibarra, pending league and federation approval.
Ibarra joins an already dominant offense that sits in first place and unbeaten in the league.
Ibarra appeared in 23 matches for Greenville Triumph SC during the 2021 season, totaling 1,145 minutes. The San Diego native tallied two goals and one assist on the year, including the go-ahead goal in the club’s semifinal playoff win over the USL1’s team in East Ridge, Tennessee.
Before joining Greenville, the midfielder signed with the USL Championship club Charleston Battery in 2020. Ibarra began his professional career with third-tier Swedish club Bodens BK for the 2019 season.
“Jesus will be an exciting addition to our group,” said CFC Head Coach Rod Underwood. “He is a veteran who’s played in big games as a pro with the ability to be a real threat. We look forward to having him in Chattanooga and be part of what we’re growing.”
“It means everything to me (to be a part of CFC) as this club has given me the opportunity and privilege to continue playing this amazing sport professionally,” said Ibarra.
This summer, Ibarra advanced to the Round of 16 with the Duke Sevens in The Soccer Tournament (TST).
