Chattanooga FC’s defensive brick wall just got stronger. James Kasak, a former Virginia Tech standout defender, has agreed to join Chattanooga Football Club for the 2021 season. Kasak scored 6 goals and 13 assists in 75 games for the Hokies from 2016-2019.
“I’m very thankful to Coach Fuller for giving me the opportunity to begin my professional career with this historic Chattanooga club” said Kasak. “I can’t wait to meet the guys and play in front of the incredible fan base.”
James began his collegiate career as a forward, but after two seasons found a home as a left back. During his junior and senior years, he made 40 straight starts with Virginia Tech, including a deep run in the NCAA tournament his senior season. Additionally, Kasak featured prominently with NPSL’s Charlottesville Alliance FC in 2018 and North Carolina FC U23s in 2019.
“We are very pleased to have signed James Kasak” said Peter Fuller, Head Coach, Chattanooga FC. “He had a great career at Virginia Tech as well as being drafted by Sporting Kansas City in last year‘s MLS draft. He is a left footed left-sided player who can pass a ball extremely well both long and short. He is a good crosser and a solid defender. He’s going to be a wonderful addition to the team this spring.”
Kasak will be joining a veteran back line that will no doubt keep the opposition at bay. Make sure to catch James in action as the club embarks upon the 2021 season with the NISA spring tournament, scheduled to start April 13th. Get your annual passes today to get in on the fun: CFCTIX.com
