Chattanooga Football Club is pleased to announce that Drew Courtney will join the first team as assistant coach for the 2020 campaign. Drew has a long resume of coaching success, and has done a masterful job of developing young players at the college and amateur level, with multiple players now plying their trade in the professional level.
“I am honored to be joining the coaching staff at CFC” said Courtney. “As a former player and coach of the women’s team my investment in the club is over ten years strong. I am grateful to Jeremy, Bill and Peter for the opportunity to help lead these young men.”
Coach Courtney returns home to Chattanooga FC, having played in the men’s squad in 2010 and 2011. Most recently, Courtney comes from USL 2’s Dalton Red Wolves U23, where he coached the team to a 7-1-6 record. Prior to that, Drew managed the Bryan College Men’s team, where the squad amassed a 66-26-9 record, including two top 10 rankings (NAIA), the 2015 AAC Conference Championship, and Coach of the Year honors. In 2016, Coach Courtney helmed the Chattanooga FC Women’s team, where the team had an 8-2-6 record.
“Regardless of what industry you work in, adding a quality person like Drew to the organization is good business” said Bill Elliott, Technical Director, Chattanooga FC. “We are all excited to have him here.”
Coach Courtney will be on the sidelines for Chattanooga FC’s first home match of the NISA season next Saturday, March 14th against Michigan Stars. Ticket packages are on sale now at CFCTix.com.
