• Ian McGrath and Sean Hoffstatter both meet the back of the net producing a 2-0 win.

• Richard Dixon and James Kasak make a return onto the pitch for Chattanooga FC.

Chattanooga FC players and fans brought fantastic energy to Finley Stadium as they faced off against rival New Amsterdam FC from update New York. While fans cheered, the Boys in Blue fought to protect “Fort” Finley Stadium.

Both teams wrestled to find their rhythm in the beginning. In the 42nd minute, the center referee issued a red card to New Amsterdam when midfielder Cameron Woodfin was dragged to the ground. With New Amsterdam playing a man down, Ian McGrath took advantage two minutes later, scoring a brilliant goal to send CFC to the locker room up 1-0 to end the first half.

Early in the second half, following a series of yellow cards issued to James Kasak and Ian McGrath, Sean Hoffstatter earned a penalty due to a handball violation in the box from New Amsterdam FC in the 48’.

Sean Hoffstatter delivered a dash of brilliance that connected with the back of the net, but it was immediately called back because of an encroachment violation. Hoffstatter then proceeds to give it another shot, however this time it is saved by New Amsterdam.

Later in the 73rd minute James Kasak assisted Sean Hoffstatter, who delivered a magnificent lob goal over the keeper, putting CFC up 2-0.

After two more yellow cards on Ryan Marcano and Cutler Coleman, and a little rain from mother nature, CFC ended the night with an incredible win and a celebration with the fans.

CFC Head Coach Peter Fuller was pleased with the way the team played.

“We’ve seen some really good performances from guys who have not played in a while because they have been either out injured, or just haven’t been given their chance,” Fuller said.

“I am very pleased with the new system I tried tonight. I thought it looked good, although there were a few flaws that need to be corrected. There are a lot of possibilities with it.”

Next, CFC heads west to California for two road matches. They play Los Angeles Force on June 9th at 7:30 p.m. PDT and then San Diego 1904 FC June 12th at 7:00 p.m. PDT.
