Chattanooga FC knew that their first ever professional season would be a historic one. After eleven years competing, and winning, in the NPSL, the club that captivated the soccer world’s attention by hosting a record 18,227 fans in a championship final, shattered American norms by becoming the first soccer team in the US to be publicly owned by supporters, was prepared to launch its first season in the professional ranks, choosing National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) as the place to begin the next chapter in the team’s history.
Then the pandemic hit.
Super Chief, a locally based production company, used this premise to create “No Matter What: The Rise of Chattanooga FC.” Producers and camera crews followed the club all year: from tryouts, planning the first professional season, the aftermath of a pandemic that scattered plans to the wind, and the recovery of the club as they pieced together a fall season and NISA tournament run. The docuseries will be released this winter and will give viewers exclusive behind the scenes access to players, coaches, and front office staff to show the community a glimpse of what the 2020 season was like for the club.
“I’m excited to be working on this project. I think the fans of soccer (and of course the Chattahooligans) will really enjoy this series” said Adam Dukes, owner/partner of Super Chief. “When I first moved to Chattanooga I had a feeling that the city was special. When I went to my first CFC game I knew it was special. It made me think about a show that could share that experience.”
CFC’s Peter Fuller is a fan of the experience. “I’m really excited about the release of No Matter What. It was a great experience for us having the guys with us all year and in Detroit in the bubble. They fit in with us seamlessly, and really felt like part of the group! I’m very excited to see what they have come up with.”
This project has been more than a year in the making and will give fans a glimpse into day-to-day life for Chattanooga Football Club players, staff and fans.

Q & A with Chief Marketing Officer Owen Seaton
Q: Shoot this into my veins. When can I watch this?
A: Our partners at Super Chief are in the process of combing through hundreds of hours of footage to tell the story of the 2020 season in the most complete fashion. So it will most likely be February before this is ready.
Q: Will I have to pay to watch?
A: We are working on a lot of possible distribution deals. We aim to have this series air in the Chattanooga market first for our supporters. We are talking to all the major streaming services and a few major cable networks at this time. We are confident that we will have more detailed news to share about this very soon.
Q: Will there be future seasons of No Matter What?
A: Stay tuned…
Q: Can you tell me more?
A: We will have more to say after a distribution deal is struck, as well as a full-on trailer once the editing is complete. In the meantime, I am available for media inquiries and you can follow me on Twitter @CFC_CMO
