El Capitan is back! Chattanooga Football Club is thrilled to announce that midfielder Juan Hernandez is returning for his sixth season with the club, and his first as a professional, pending P1 visa approval. Juan has been the primary leader of the club on the pitch for the last three seasons with his dazzling footwork and trademark long blonde hair. In 2019, the Spaniard scored 6 goals with 10 primary assists in 2019, playing in 29 games.
“I am blessed to sign my first pro contract and thankful that I can keep giving back to this team and this community through the sport I love” said Hernandez.
Hernandez also earned national honors in 2019, making the all American, all region, and all conference NPSL teams for the regular season. Having first played with the club in 2015 and being a part of some of the biggest moments in CFC history, it only seems right that Juanito be a part of Chattanooga Football Club’s future.
“We are privileged to have Juan Hernandez back and signed with us for another year” said Peter Fuller, Head Coach, Chattanooga FC. “One for a number of years has been the face of Chattanooga FC. It is only fitting that he be a major portion of our plans as we begin our venture in NISA.”
Chattanooga FC will begin the 2020 NISA season on the road in just over a month against Oakland Roots on February 29th. Chattanooga FC’s NISA Spring schedule is out and is available on ChattanoogaFC.com. Annual passes are available now at ChattanoogaFC.com, and individual tickets go on sale February 24th.
