On a rainy night in the south side of the Scenic City, Chattanooga FC climbed the NISA Eastern conference ladder and took the top spot after a 3-0 victory over New Amsterdam FC in the final game of the regular season. The victory comes just four days after CFC came back to win against NY Cosmos 2-1, meaning in the span of one week, Chattanooga FC moved from 4th in the table to first.

The home team came out swinging, charging hard early and often to keep the NAFC defense on their heels. The first crack in the armor came in the 10th minute, as Zeca Ferraz, playing as the lone striker, received a ball from midfielder Sean Hoffstatter skillfully slid a goal under the New Amsterdam keeper from the left to take the lead.

New Amsterdam fought back, finding space in between the back line and forcing keeper Alec Redington to make several key saves. Redington, in partnership with center backs Nick Spielman and Richard Dixon, kept the clean sheet through the first half, and CFC took a 1-0 lead into the locker room.

The second half brought more goals with Zeca scoring his second in the 59th minute thanks in part to beautiful service from captain Juan Hernandez. Just 12 minutes later, Nick Spielman lofted a header towards goal, and Sean Hoffstatter gave it the directional header it needed to send it home and close out the scoring for the night.

This weekend, the club travels to Detroit for the NISA Championship tournament, an eight team round robin tournament that culminates in a semifinal bracket. Matches will run from September 21st–October 2nd. Fans can watch all matches on BeIn Sports.
