• Ryan Marcano and Sean Hoffstatter score tough goals against Georgia Revolution leading to a 2-1 win
• Beautiful bicycle kick goal from Hoffstatter
Chattanooga Football Club brought home a victory against former NPSL rival Georgia Revolution FC on Wednesday at Warhawk Stadium in McDonough, Georgia. The game opened with a slow start from both sides until CFC picked up the speed. 33 minutes into the match, forward Sean Hoffstatter delivered a brilliant bicycle kick goal, changing the pace of the game. With very little time to celebrate, Georgia Revolution answered back with a goal five minutes later, tying up the match 1-1. Late in the match, fresh off the bench, striker Ryan Macano comes in with 12 minutes left to play and scores a stunning goal, putting CFC up by one and solidifying this game’s victory.
“We were very pleased to have the opportunity to play Georgia Revolution yesterday,” said Peter Fuller, Head Coach, Chattanooga FC. “I thought we had good moments as we tried out some new things and some different players in some different positions. Overall it was a very good experience for us. They are a good team and gave us a very good test. Now it’s time to get ready for the Maryland Bobcats who will be a great test for us.”
Georgia Revolution coach and former 2014 Chattanooga FC player, Adam Reakes, talks about coaching against his former team, saying “It is a good experience, I have been following Chattanooga from a far for a few years now since I left, and I am wishing them the best. It is a good chance to see where they are in person, see how the new coaching staff is doing and get a feel for how they are doing things. Honestly it is just great to compete against a NISA team giving these boys an opportunity to play and see some familiar faces along the way. I am really excited.”
Now it is time to bring it back home to our very own Finley Stadium. Next up, CFC face off against Maryland Bobcats FC on May 29th at 7:30 p.m. EDT. Tickets available at CFCTIX.com.
