NPSL Southeast Conference team Pensacola City FC abruptly ceased operations on Thursday, May 29.
Chattanooga FC fans should be aware that the game scheduled for 7:30 Friday, June 6 with Pensacola City at Finley Stadium has been cancelled.
The situation presents numerous issues related to the remainder of the season for the rest of the teams in the conference. Southeast Conference and NPSL League leadership are actively discussing reasonable scenarios so as to not cause further disruption related to this unprofessional and untimely occurrence.
Leadership is currently working to include all the members in this decision-making process and quickly find resolution so proper communication can be made to fans, media and the remainder of the NPSL. Announcements are expected this week.
The National Premier Soccer League released this statement:
“The NPSL is extremely disappointed to hear that Pensacola City FC has decided to cease operations with immediate effect. The league remains committed to the Pensacola soccer community and looks forward to working with fans and supporters in the future.”
