O Captain! Our Captain! Juan has been playing for CFC since 2015, becoming a household name through his work ethic, consistency, and impeccable foot skills. As a fan favorite and the longest serving player on the roster, he will no doubt be remembered as one of the greatest CFC players of all time.
Hernandez helped CFC to win the conference and regional titles in 2016 and received All-NPSL Honorable Mention recognition during that same year. Throughout his tenure at CFC, they have won three NPSL Southeast Conference Championships, two NPSL South Region Championships, one NPSL National Final, and one US Amateur National Championship.
Last season, Juan played in 13 games and started 11 of them, finishing with a total of 3 assists and 1028 minutes played. One of those assists helped secure a game winning goal against Soda City FC during the 2020 NISA Independent Cup—another set Ryan Marcano up for a jaw-dropping bicycle goal during the 2020 Fall Championship Tournament.
Coach Fuller is optimistic about what Juan will bring to the table this season.
“As the longest serving player on the roster and our captain, Juan is counted on for so many different things. He is coming off of a season where he may have played his best soccer for Chattanooga FC and I have no reason to believe that he won’t continue that in 2021.”
We’re ready to see the Spanish midfield maestro back in action!
