Richard Dixon is a one of a kind player. Originally hailing from Hanover, Jamaica, Dixon has made a name for himself as a stand out player in the American leagues after moving here at the age of 14.
In 2020, Dixon was signed as the first official professional player for Chattanooga Football Club. Prior to that, he played for the University of West Florida, after which he went on to play for teams in the PDL, USL League 1, USL League 2, and USL Championship before settling in the Scenic City. During his tenure in USL Championship and League 1, Dixon averaged 1.28 points per game and made 123 appearances.
Even with injuries, Dixon started and played in 7 games, had 3 assists and appeared for a total of 554 minutes last season. Head coach Fuller had nothing but praise for his defender when asked about Dixon’s 2020 performance.
“He was a huge piece to the success that we had as a team. Although Richard struggled at times with injuries, he is a great player and a phenomenal leader. He will be a huge piece to whatever success we have in 2021.”
