Chattanooga Football Club will be hosted by the LA Force in a midweek match as CFC looks to carry its momentum from Saturday’s 2-0 victory over New Amsterdam FC at Finley Stadium. Both teams are coming off wins this weekend, with LA Force beating Michigan Stars 2-1.
Chattanooga is facing Los Angeles for the second time this spring. In the last matchup between the two clubs in April, CFC went on a scoring frenzy for the 4-1 win in front of the home fans at Finley Stadium to open the Legends Cup tournament.
“We’re looking to keep building on the previous game being in a new formation” said Midfielder Cameron Woodfin. “We’re wanting to push to be more creative in our buildup and our attacking third play. We’re definitely wanting to score more goals! I want to thank everyone for continued support even as we travel across the country. We think about you every game day.”
LA sits in second place thanks to having played two more games than CFC so far. CFC can still move into third place with a win over LA.
The referees may need to keep the cards ready, as Los Angeles have been booked more than any other team in NISA this spring with 14 yellows and no reds.
Chattanooga Football Club plays in the third tier of professional soccer in the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA). Founded in 2009, it became the first soccer club to offer true ownership to the fans in 2019 with 3,200+ investors from Chattanooga, all 50 states, and 31 countries. CFC made the move to pro in 2020. It has called Finley Stadium in downtown Chattanooga its home since the beginning.
