Chattanooga Football Club hosted its second Center of Excellence training event on Friday evening at Finley Stadium girls in the U14 and older age groups of CFC Academy and our partner organizations across the Chattanooga and North Georgia region.
The Boys event took place in November. These players receive the opportunity to train with the CFC 1st Team technical staff, take part in a presentation about player pathway opportunities, and hear from current professional players and Academy players. The day always finishes with games.
Players are selected based on recommendations from directors, team coaches, and the CFC technical staff. This events have players from throughout the Chattanooga area including our partner and affiliate youth clubs. It is capped at just eight goalkeepers and 48 field players. There is no cost to the players invited.
"As a club, we are excited about continuing to provide opportunities for players to earn the opportunity to be a part of the First Team," said CFC Managing Director Jeremy Alumbaugh. "The Center of Excellence is another positive step for players in our community."
The hope is to also identify those players who may be ready to play and train with the CFC Women's team in 2022. Some female players from the Center of Excellence events may be asked to attend Open Tryouts for the CFC Women's team as an invited recruit.
