Chattanooga Football Club continues to build its roster for the relaunch of the women's team this month. Head Coach Randy Douglas adds a veteran player who will add leadership on and off the field.

Jasmine Marquez has been named assistant coach for the 2022 season; she will also be part of the roster as a player. Marquez has been part of the Point University coaching staff for the last two years.

Prior to that role, she was a two-year captain at Point University.

"As an assistant coach she will bring a high level of knowledge in the attacking half and will be counted on to help in pushing us in training every session," said Douglas.

The versatility is expected to create an immediate impact among the squad. As a player Jasmine was a two time Appalachian Athletic Conference All-Conference Midfielder.

"Jasmine scored some very memorable goals for us at Point," remembered Douglas. "Hopefully can produce some of those magical moments for CFC.”

Marquez added, "I’m ecstatic to be on the field again with players who want to compete and get the best out of every practice and game."

Soccer is in her blood and she says the sport is something that has just always been a part of her.

"I am a huge soccer fan, especially women's soccer," she said. "I've had the privilege of playing with a few girls who play in the NWSL and I would love to have more women's teams. Obviously that's only possible with a good fan base, so I'm so excited to be part of a stepping stone for just that."
