Chattanooga Football Club has announced the signing of Ciara Boal, a 4-year college standout and youth academy product from Stoke City FC in England. 

Boal moved to the U.S. to play soccer in college and spent her first two years at Middle Georgia State University. In her freshman year the team advanced to the Southern States Conference final four for the first time in program history. The very next year, her team advanced to the NAIA national tournament for the first time in program history. 

Boal transferred to Southeastern University for her junior year and the team finished the season ranked #6 in the country. In her senior year, they won the Sun Conference Championship. 

Head coach Randy Douglas is familiar with Boal and her goal-scoring ability from the midfield from watching a few of her college games.

“She’s talented, hard-working, competitive, passionate, and has that will to win," said Douglas. "We are getting a player in Ciara that will do her best to unlock the opponent’s back line and cause problems. I sincerely believe she will be a fan favorite by the time we get to mid-season.”

Boal said she's heard so much about the club and CFC's new coach made it an easy decision. 

"Chattanooga sounds like a great club with a big community supporting it. It’s great that the club have brought back the Women’s team not only for the club, but also to help further the growth of the Women’s game as it continues to grow more and more worldwide. I can’t wait to get started and have a successful season this summer with Chattanooga FC."

The 2022 season begins on May 22 with an away game in Nashville. The first home game for the Women's team is June 4 against North Alabama Soccer Club (Huntsville) at Finley Stadium.
