Summer interns in the office

For someone seeking a career in professional sports, there is no better opportunity to get real world experience than an internship. Every semester, Chattanooga FC partners with universities all over the country to give young men and women the hands-on experience in the business and operations side. Many of our full-time employees have started as interns, and many more have gone on to lead successful careers in the sports world and beyond. Get to know our 2022 Summer interns!

Isabel Aguilar

Sales and Services Intern

Hi, I am Isabel Aguilar, and I am part of the CFC intern group. I am from central Florida and currently enrolled at Montreat College, majoring in Business Administrations with a concentration in Sports Management and a minor in criminal justice. I am expected to graduate in May 2023.

I currently play soccer at Montreat College and was part of the track team my freshman year of college. I am also a part of the women’s CFC team, which has been such a fun experience for me. I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old. I grew up in a household where soccer is a big thing, my family has been such a big support towards my soccer goals.

Edgar Angel

Sales and Services Intern

My name is Edgar Angel. I’m from Middle Tennessee and grew up in the city of Hendersonville, TN, north of Nashville. I’m majoring in Business: Marketing at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Before coming to intern at Chattanooga FC, I had previously worked approximately two years at Bellhop Moving Company at HQ and in multiple U.S. Senate Campaigns.

I hope to finish up my degree within the next year and stay working in the sports marketing industry. I grew up playing and watching soccer my whole life so a dream would be to eventually work for an MLS team, preferably Nashville SC. I love and enjoy watching all sports so working for any professional team at the highest level would still be ideal, but soccer is the goal.

Trey Burchfield

Game Day Operations Intern

My name is Trey Burchfield and I am the Club Operations Intern. I graduated with a degree in sports management from UTC. Last summer, I worked for Chattanooga Football Club and I fell in love with the program. I then had an opportunity with our Operations manager Alex Pastell to learn under her and get a better understanding of what all goes on at the club! CFC has given me some great experience opportunities that will help me further my career as someone in the sports world. Being able to help those in need through the power of sports has been a great journey and experience overall!

Samuel Duarte

Communications and Content

My name is Samuel Duarte, I am a senior at Lee University working on my Digital Media degree. I used to be part of the track and field team where I was a javelin thrower. I am from Paraguay in South America where soccer is everything, so working with a soccer club just makes my job so much easier. I truly enjoy working with the team and being able to socialize with the players. It is a lot of fun to always be in the field to capture the hard work of the players and the passion of the fans towards soccer and their team. The more I work here, the more I love soccer

Richard Pena

Marketing Intern

My name is Richard Pena. I was born in Los Angeles, California but I moved at an early age and grew up in Virginia. Originally, my family is from El Salvador where football is the most popular sport played. Football has been a very big part of my life: I started playing at the age of five and have fallen in love with the beautiful game ever since!

I am currently a marketing major at Southern Adventist University, and I keep myself involved with the game through the Chattanooga Football League and Highland Park Commons, as well as serving as a coach with OGA.

Being a part of this team has been a humbling and great experience, one of my favorite things about this position is that everyone puts their heart into making sure everything is put together very well. The energy and drive of the office is phenomenal furthermore, the teamwork in the office is breathtaking. It amazes me to see how so many ideas can be turned into a masterpiece of work.

Jordan Stevenson

Sales and Services Intern

Hey my name is Jordan! I am a 22 year old business management major at UTC. I will graduate in December at the end of the fall semester. In addition to my sales and service intern position at CFC I also work at McKenzie Arena in the ticket office for UTC athletics. My plan is to combine my love of sports with what I have learned in school to continue working in sports business.

I am an avid soccer fan in my free time and have recently picked up disc golf as a way to get outside and enjoy the great outdoors Chattanooga has to offer. I consider myself a thrill seeker and I enjoy skiing, white water rafting, spelunking, and skydiving.

Patrick Warren

Communications and Content Intern

Hey, I'm a Chattanooga native and a journalism major at the University of Southern California. I work on the content team for CFC, and enjoy the thrills that game day provides.

My favorite part about my job is interacting with CFC fans and witnessing the passion people have for the team. I would love to get into sports reporting in the future, and enjoy playing guitar in my free time.
