Volkswagen, in partnership with Chattanooga Football Club, hosted a soccer clinic for children of the Chattanooga community on Saturday.

U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team legend, Clint Dempsey, and U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team player, Lynn Williams, were in attendance to help lead the two training sessions. Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly also made an appearance at the event and was cheering on the children as they participated in games.

200 local youth players  were invited to the stadium to participate in the clinic run by Clint, Lynn and coaches from the CFC organization.

The kids received autographs and took photos with the players after their session.

This event was the result of the 13 year-long relationship between Volkswagen and CFC. Just last year, the VW logo returned to all jerseys as VWGoA became an official sponsor and partner of CFC. With the help of VW, CFC added a women’s team that was able to rejoin the Women’s Premier Soccer League in time for the 2022 season. The collaboration is centered around three major pillars including electrifying soccer, diversity and inclusion and sustainability.

“The commitment that VW has shown to this community is simply amazing.  The opportunity to attend the clinic this past weekend and meeting Clint Dempsey and Lynn Williams is something these kids will never forget. CFC and VW committed to ‘Electrify Soccer’ here in 2022 and events like this show how real that commitment is.  We are excited to build on events like this for the future to inspire and educate our community and our children,” said Jeremy Alumbaugh, CEO of Chattanooga Football Club.

“We would like to thank the CFC Family - CFC Academy, CFC Foundation, CFC Community Partners, CFC Recreation Partners and North Georgia Soccer Academy for also being a part of the 'Electrify Soccer' movement.”
