Chattanooga FC named Club of the Month in NISA

By Chattanooga FC Communications, 05/18/23, 6:45PM EDT

Chattanooga Football Club was named Club of the Month in the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) for April. CFC Goalkeeper Jean Antoine became the first goalkeeper to be named Player of the Month.

The announcements came Thursday as NISA announced its April Performers of the Month awards. Determined by a select set of NISA front office staff, Chattanooga FC was featured in two of the four designated awards.

Player of the Month recognizes a player who demonstrated his abilities on the field above and beyond any other player in the league.

Player of the Month Jean Antoine, also the defending holder of the Golden Glove Award, started the season with four clean sheets over four April starts.

“I’m thankful for the honors,” says Antoine. “But at the end of the day I’m playing a team sport. It’s not about me, it’s about the team…about the players.”

Chattanooga FC was also recognized as Club of the Month, an off-the-field award to the Club that best promoted their brand and image within their local community.

“It’s an honor to be recognized,” says Jack Bradshaw, Community Relations Manager at CFC. “We strive to work with different nonprofit organizations per home game as part of our mission of community support. It’s exciting to see our players step up and get involved as well.”

Chattanooga FC posted a 3-1-0 mark putting it at the top of the league table. Within the community, the club executed a Cause of the Match for each home match; one with Ronald McDonald House Chattanooga, and one with Habitat for Humanity.

“We are honored that different nonprofits throughout Chattanooga are allowing us to be the microphone for them…that they are able to use us to get their mission out,” added Bradshaw. “Being that pillar of support is what we continue to strive to be as a community-focused club.”

Chattanooga FC will be hosting a double header at Finley Stadium on May 27th against FC Birmingham (W) at 4:30 p.m. and the Maryland Bobcats (M) at 7:30pm. Tickets for that game as well as season tickets are available now at
