Chattanooga FC has signed veteran striker Daniel Jackson as the Scenic City’s professional soccer team launches into the 2021 NISA Fall campaign.
The Silver Springs, MD native will add some extra firepower to a potent front line that scored 3 goals in the opening match of the season and brought Chattanooga FC a first match victory.
This is a reunion for Jackson and fellow CFC player Richard Dixon. They both played together for USL Championship team Oklahoma City. Jackson was also at USL Championship side St. Louis while current CFC managing director Jeremy Alumbaugh was general manager there.
Jackson said, “I’m extremely excited to be given the opportunity and contribute to this already talented group of players. After speaking with Peter (Fuller), he provided me with a positive vision of what he's trying to build here in Chattanooga and I was immediately on board. I’m looking forward to playing for the club and in front of the immense support of the Chattahooligans and fans of Chattanooga FC!”
Jackson has played at every level of professional soccer in the US, being drafted by MLS side Real Salt Lake in 2014. He’s played for USL Championship and League One teams, and overseas in Australia and Finland. He's scored 18 goals and 4 assists in his pro career.
Coach Peter Fuller is excited to add his versatility to the team.
“Daniel has had a good pro career playing in the USL Championship with Oklahoma City as well as with St. Louis while Jeremy Alumbaugh was there as their General Manager. He is a versatile player who possesses great athleticism and will be able to play multiple positions for us through the front and even the midfield. We are excited to have the opportunity to sign him and have him through the NISA Fall Season.”
